We Are Alo

The Alo Foundation focuses on community events and bringing people together around wellness and mindful movement. The brand also offers apparel, footwear, accessories, a special Atelier collection, and a Wellness System. At the heart of everything is a philosophy centered on helping people live an optimal life, one that aligns with personal goals and intentions and allows each person to become their best self.

A major part of this commitment is responsible sourcing. The company builds its products on an ethical foundation that respects human rights at every stage of production. In July 2025, Alo joined the Fair Labor Association, which is an international network made up of companies, universities, and civil society organizations. This network works to ensure that millions of people employed in factories and farms around the world receive fair pay and are protected from risks to their health, safety, and overall well being.

This decision reflects both the values of the brand and its long term vision. Over the following five years, Alo will go through the FLA’s rigorous Accreditation process. This process looks not only at policies but also at how effectively those policies are put into practice. It includes strengthening the social compliance program so that it aligns with globally respected standards. It also ensures independent monitoring of the supply chain to identify and address potential risks. Management systems are being built for remediation, worker empowerment, and training. Transparency is demonstrated through public reporting and FLA verification.

To back up this commitment, the company is investing in a dedicated Social Compliance team to lead and implement these programs. This team regularly engages subject matter experts, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to gather guidance and feedback on various initiatives. The Social Compliance team can be reached by email.

In terms of responsible manufacturing, Alo is committed to the fair treatment of workers throughout the entire supply chain. In April 2023, the brand signed the American Apparel and Footwear Association and the Fair Labor Association’s Commitment to Responsible Recruitment. This step was taken to address issues around labor abuse, unsafe working conditions, extended hours, and inadequate pay scales. The company is working with global supply chain partners to create conditions where no workers pay for their job. Workers receive a timely refund of any fees and costs they paid to obtain or maintain their job. Workers retain control of their travel documents and have full freedom of movement. All workers are informed, in a language they understand, of the basic terms of their employment before they leave their country of origin.

The Workplace Standards set out basic minimum policies, procedures, and working conditions that the company’s own operations and its suppliers must meet in order to do business with Alo. These standards apply across all facilities and are enforced through regular assessments. Suppliers are expected to comply with all local laws as well as the higher standard of the Workplace Standards where local laws fall short. The standards cover areas such as wages and benefits, working hours, health and safety, nondiscrimination, and freedom of association. Regular audits are conducted to verify compliance, and any violations must be corrected immediately. If serious or repeated violations are found, the business relationship may be terminated.

The Social Compliance Manual provides detailed guidance on how these standards are implemented and monitored. It includes step by step instructions for factory assessments, corrective action plans, and worker interviews. The manual also covers how to report concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation. Workers and third parties can raise concerns through multiple channels, including a dedicated compliance email address. All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly. By embedding these practices into daily operations, the brand aims to create a supply chain that is not only efficient but also just and humane. Continuous improvement is expected, and progress is reviewed regularly with input from external experts and civil society partners.
